Stage Stars Have you ever wanted to follow a yellow brick road, go on a magic carpet ride or visit mermaids under the sea? If so, you should join Stage Stars and see where your creativity and imagination can take you! Everyone will get their chance to sing, dance act and shine in this exciting workshop. We'll learn songs from Broadway shows and we'll make up some of our own dance moves. This class gives kids a fun place to express themselves. As a team, we will put on a fun show for our families and friends at the end of the semester. See you on Stage! Comedy Action Troupe (CAT) Improvisation helps kids think on their feet, strengthens acting choices and increases stage presence. It also stimulates the imagination, builds confidence and is tons of FUN! In this class we will learn many of the games that you see on Drew Carey's "Whose Line is it Anyway?" The art of stage combat (the illusion of physical combat without causing harm to the performers) will also be explored. Actors use stage combat and physical comedy in everything from Shakespeare to Saturday Night Live. See you on stage! Mix-it-Up Jazz Come learn a combination of jazz, hip-hop, and musical theater dance. Students will learn dance fundamentals. We will dance and choreograph your favorite songs. Come and get moving after school! Songwriting Write, Sing, Create and Play in this fun and interactive class. Through games, exercises, and listening to all types of music, we'll explore the 5 components of basic songwriting… rhythm, song structure, lyrics, melody and rhyme.
